Camp Leader

We are seeking a camp leader with arts and craft skills for our After School Program 2022 team. Leaders will be responsible for the instruction of Visual Arts/Crafts

Applicants applying for these positions should be aware that they have the following characteristics:

  • After School Program runs between 1-12 weeks,  

  • Program is held at our office location in Mississauga 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the objectives of the program as established by excellent staff relations

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive specialty arts 

  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans of the arts in a manner appropriate to the age audience

  • Demonstrate and provide instruction to campers and ensure planning and preparation for all activities related to the camp program are carried out successfully

  • To ensure supervision of campers at all times and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants by adhering to department safety standards and assisting with emergency procedures as required

  • To provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource to parents, participants, volunteers, staff, Supervisors, and managers.

  • Communicate in an effective and timely manner in writing or voicemail with the Program Supervisor all aspects related to facilities, staffing, participants, equipment, supplies or anything that would impact the quality and safe delivery of the program

  • Conduct safety checks of program equipment and allocated facilities daily. Clean-up of all supplies and equipment at the conclusion of the daily program

Skills and Qualifications

  • Arts and Creative Arts (Crafts, Crochet, Drama)

  • Experience developing detailed lesson plans

  • Excellent communications and organisation skills required

  • Emergency First Aid/CPR B certification by employment start date preferred

  • HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Childhood Development certification preferred

Customer Service Representative

We are hiring several customer service representatives for a residential campaign to introduce and promote SMIC’s services and programs, and ask for people’s support and inspire them about the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knocking on door in a neighbourhood for face-to-face fundraising.

  • Following the system and pitch that will be provided 

  • Leading a good friendly conversation with the donors 

  • Introducing SMIC, it’s services, and inspiring them about the organization

Skills and Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills, can inspire donors/people with the work

  • Effective body language and voice tone

  • Adaptable to new interactions and conversations, natural conversationalist, able to respond quickly off-script

  • Driven to meet or exceed targets, and work independently with little supervision

  • Motivated to multitask through various calls to action, computer programs/forms, while keeping focused on the mission of Inspiring Generosity

  • Comfortable with basic computer & data entry skills, as well as: Google Chrome, Gmail, Google form, and other online applications
